Handrail
What is the difference between a handrail railing and a balustrade? Broadly speaking there is actually very little difference.
Within the industry architects and staircase specialists will typically use the term ‘railing’ where functionality and cost are the primary considerations. The term ‘balustrade’ is generally used here design together with functionality are the principal concerns.
In certain instances staircase balustrade is not sufficient to ensure the safety of users or to satisfy building regulations. In such cases we recommend additional wall fixed handrail.
