EeStairs’ North American team has worked in collaboration with award-winning Canadian interior design firm, Bartlett & Associates to create a truly outstanding staircase for a new office space in Toronto.

Working alongside Bartlett & Associates, EeStairs was handed an initial concept – developing the design to make it buildable within the project’s schedule and restraints.

Mild steel

EeStairs North America Site Supervisor, Johan Bolle said: “The client was looking for something light, airy and curved – proposing a full mild steel staircase with perforate guards and white oak treads as a solution. We processed this information and developed a design to bring these requests together while staying within an achievable project schedule.”

Very tight schedule

Bartlett and EeStairs had to work around a very tight schedule, which due to noise restrictions meant labour was limited to evenings and nights. Due to the installation area being on the 13th floor, the staircase had to be fabricated at EeStairs’ studio and cut into six smaller sections. These sections were then erected, welded and finished on site. Structure Corp (the Contractor) along with EeStairs assisting with the stair opening layout.

Johan Bolle added: “We did our utmost to provide the client with a complete staircase solution, from the co-creation stage to installation. It was important for us to exhibit absolute attention to detail throughout the project, which I am proud to say we achieved.”
