Flowing feature for Finger Lake property
During the creation of a luxurious modern summer retreat, Leighton Design Group approached EeStairs to design a custom staircase that would enhance this beautiful property. The property is modern, characterised by curved, flowing lines, vast space and is flooded with natural light. The staircase itself was to be positioned in a large room with a double height ceiling, perfect for a bespoke feature stair.
These features soon had EeStairs’ design team inspired - and the result was just as exciting. The large room meant that the staircase can be seen from numerous different angles, making a design that looked wonderful from a number of perspectives a must have.
By following the curve of the exterior wall of the property EeStairs has created a beautiful helical staircase, fitted with a TransParancy glass balustrade and African Mahogany treads. The staircase has been installed on a coordinating Wenge wood platform, with integrated LED lighting, which ensures that this beautiful design really does take centre stage. The graceful helical shaping is complimented by feature pendant lighting, which falls in the center of the beautiful staircase.
To ensure that the staircase looks flawless for years to come it has been finished with EeStairs patented EeSoffit finish. Eesoffit offers a luxurious look, with a surface that is both strong and durable, meaning that it will not suffer from deterioration such as cracking like ordinary stucco finishes. The tight helical shape of the staircase meant that it required tight radius tempered glass for the balustrade, which was challenging to install, however EeStairs was able to overcome this and achieve extraordinary results.
Although at first glance the staircase might look simple with its white stringer and underside and understated glass balustrade, when taking a step back it is nothing short of perfect. The helical form compliments the undulating feature fireplace flawlessly, whilst the glass balustrade allows natural light from a series of windows to flood the interior. Each and every detail has been carefully considered, even the EeSoffit matches the vast white walls.
