At EeStairs, we measure CO₂ emissions at every stage of the production process, ensuring that sustainability is central at every step.
Each staircase configuration has its own ecological footprint, calculated based on material use, energy consumption, and production efficiency. We display this estimated CO₂ value here, so you know exactly what the environmental impact of your staircase is and can make informed choices.
Our advanced robotic assembly process reduces waste and increases precision, resulting in a smaller ecological footprint. We continuously improve our techniques, lower energy consumption, and use materials more efficiently — without compromising on quality or durability.
By choosing an EeStairs staircase, you choose a product that lasts for decades, reducing replacements and the related emissions. For us, sustainability means not only less emission now, but also efficiency and quality in the long term.

Please ensure your transport can accommodate these sizes.
Comfort steps
Comfort steps apply when your stairs are wider or deeper than 1.000 mm.
Want the smoothest and most comfortable way to walk up your stairs? Comfort steps give you wider treads, creating more space for your feet and ensuring a stable, natural step. This makes walking up easier, especially if your stairs are frequently used or if you simply want extra comfort.
Strong & durable design When you increase the width beyond 1.000 mm, the stair material is upgraded for extra strength.
- Under 1.000 mm: steps are 4 mm thick
- Over 1.000 mm: steps are 5 mm thick
No matter the size, the steps are exceptionally strong and can hold up to 300 kg per step, ensuring durability and safety.
Stairs wider than the opening. Your staircase width doesn’t have to match the exact opening! Keep the upper section aligned for a seamless fit while adding extra width at the base.
For example, if your stair opening is 1.000 mm wide and enclosed by walls, a perfect fit would be 940 mm. But if you have extra space at the bottom, extending the width allows for an even more comfortable and secure walk up.
This step-by-step guide helps you to measure the space accurately ensuring that your new staircase will fit perfectly in your home. We start with the essential dimensions.
Essential dimensions
Stair Width
First measure the width of the stairwell opening. Allow a margin of about 30 mm on each side where there are walls, so the staircase can be installed easily. If the staircase is not fully enclosed by walls, it can often be wider than the opening. This provides extra walking comfort.
Tip – Consider Wider Steps
The width is mainly determined by the lower treads. If you have space on one or both sides, consider wider treads for more convenience.
Stair Depth
Measure the depth of the stairwell opening from the front to the back. Subtract about 30 mm to leave clearance between the back of the staircase and any wall. This ensures enough space.
Stair Height
Measure the distance from the floor at the bottom to the floor at the top. The critical dimension is the height from finished floor to finished floor, that is the height of your staircase.
Optional dimensions
Stairwell Width
Measure the horizontal distance from one side of the stairwell opening to the other.
Stairwell Depth
Measure the distance from the front edge to the back edge of the stairwell opening.
Floor Thickness
Measure the thickness of the floor at the stairwell opening, from top to bottom. This dimension is usually only relevant for exceptionally thick or thin floors.
Mounting Hole Height
Measure 70 mm down from the top edge of the finished floor for the standard fixing hole position. Check that there are no pipes, cables, or other obstacles in this zone. Provide an alternative mounting hole dimension if the standard 70mm is not possible.
Base Plate Hidden in Screed
If the staircase will be placed on the finished floor, leave the value at 0. If the baseplate is hidden in a recess in the floor, enter the distance between finished floor level and bottom of the recess. This will ensure that the baseplate is in the correct position and the bottom tread has the correct relationship with the floor and the rest of the treads.

Options
The image on the left shows the default option. The image on the right illustrates what it looks like when the optional feature is added.
Easy Access
Is it difficult to place the staircase in one piece? The 1m2™ can be delivered in two separate sections that are firmly and neatly joined together. This makes transport and installation easier and ensures the staircase fits through narrow passages.
Riser Bars
Risers are sturdy bars that close the open space beneath the treads, preventing feet or objects from slipping through. They increase safety and match the clean design of the staircase.
Anti-skid plugs
Anti-slip caps provide extra grip and reduce the risk of slipping. If you prefer a minimalist look, you can leave them out, but this will make the treads more slippery. Our advice: keep the caps for the best balance of style and safety.
Removable Handrail Section
With a removable top section of the handrail, you can temporarily create more space at the stairwell opening. Useful when moving large objects. Afterwards, you can easily reattach it.
Lowered Top Tread
By default, the top tread aligns with floor level. With this option, the top tread is lowered by one step. The tread is slightly deeper for comfortable use. Ideal for roof hatches, and supplied with a removable handrail section to match the height.
Stainless Steel Handrail
The standard handrail is powder-coated mild steel in the same color as the staircase. The stainless steel version has a brushed finish and is not powder-coated.
Void Balustrades
Void balustrades are railings that add safety around the stairwell opening. They are one meter high and finished in the same color as your staircase. With this option, you can specify the number of balustrades and the desired lengths.
