NextGen HKC, Boven-Hardinxveld [NL]

EeStairs + Van Es architecten

In the canteen for korfball club HKC in Boven-Hardinxveld, this straight flight links the ground-floor social space to the upper level with a deliberately restrained presence. Set against dark walls and bright timber flooring, it becomes a clear circulation line rather than a visual spectacle.

The staircase is an EeStairs NextGen™, a standardised aluminium stair system developed for consistent tolerances, predictable performance and efficient specification through digital tools. The principal technical task here was to achieve a stiff, quiet flight in a busy hospitality setting. EeStairs addressed this with accurately fabricated aluminium stringers and carefully controlled site installation, including tight setting-out of the glass line and discreet fixing points to limit vibration and prevent rattles at interfaces.

Material choices are direct and purposeful: the aluminium structure is powder coated in RAL 9017 for durability and a uniform matte finish; the treads are finished in AluGold to sharpen the step edges under light; ultra-clear glass keeps the balustrade visually minimal; and an oak handrail adds warmth and grip. The craft shows in the exact alignment of panels, consistent reveals and clean junctions throughout.
