NextGen, Hoeflon, Barneveld [NL]

EeStairs + Pieter Heenck

This NextGen™ by EeStairs stair stands in the glazed entrance volume of Hoeflon’s new Barneveld premises by Studio Pieter Heenck. Hoeflon designs, builds and supplies compact mini cranes, valued for power, precision and manoeuvrability in restricted locations.

The connection is unusually exact: EeStairs has worked with Hoeflon lifting equipment from the beginning, and this stair was installed with a Hoeflon mini crane in Hoeflon’s own building. The product and the method of placement therefore meet in one clear architectural moment. This is not a bespoke exception, but a configured NextGen™ system, selected in the warm Studio palette: Silica Storm powder-coated aluminium stringers, bronze-anodised aluminium treads, smoked laminated safety glass and oiled American walnut handrails.

The ease of assembly is part of its intelligence. NextGen™’s click-and-lock logic allows treads, landings and balustrades to come together quickly and accurately, with little site complexity. The result is an installation-ready stair whose industrial precision is softened by filtered daylight, bronze tones and the tactile steadiness of walnut.
