Wilvo, Nijkerk [NL]
EeStairs + Van Bokhorst Architecten BV
This NextGen™ by EeStairs stair serves the Wilvo Nijkerk building, formerly ITEQ, on the De Flier business park. Designed by Van Bokhorst Architecten BNA, the building combines office and production space for a company centred on high-tech sheet-metal parts, assemblies and manufacturing intelligence. The stair is configured rather than custom-forged, precise without excess. The client chose RAL 7024 stringers, giving the structure a dark, controlled line, with AluNatural anodised aluminium treads whose ribbed surface catches light and movement. Clear glass balustrades and stainless steel handrails keep the stair visually open, so the flights read as a crisp sequence of planes, shadows and reflected lines.
Its most persuasive quality is the lack of complication. NextGen™ is made to be specified online, integrated through BIM data and installed through a click-and-lock system that connects stringers, treads, landings and glass with repeatable accuracy. Here, EeStairs’ craft is visible not in theatrical complexity, but in the calm assurance of an industrial product made architecturally exact.
