EeStairs + Architectenbureau cepezed b.v.

The architects cepezed are well-known for designing in a pure Modernist manner, especially when working with glass and steel. The key word is ‘clarity’, as can be seen in the structural and architectural details of this big office interior in Leiden in the Netherlands.

When Cepezed asked us to supply four staircases, they wanted them in aluminium with non-slip treads. Our own NextGen™ by EeStairs quick-fit modular stair system was perfect for this project. The sleek EeStairs-designed aerofoil treads are quiet underfoot because of their integral sound-damping cores. And these stairs also have an unusual detail – fillets of glass between the balustrade rails.

Another significant ‘plus’ is that NextGen™ stairs can be installed very quickly, either on-site or, in this case, prepared in sections in our factory and then craned down through the roof to their positions, which minimised the need for additional structural connections.
