EeStairs + Studio Milani

These stairs are part of a five-flight configuration in an Den Bosch office building, and were designed by EeStairs in collaboration with Andrea Milani for the noted building restoration contractor Nico de Bont. The crucial design decision was to conceal key points in the stair structure to give the staircase very clean lines.

This was achieved with elegant and almost invisible steel-to-steel and glass-to-steel connections involving elements such as the glass balustrades, posts, and handrails. The finesse of the design is particularly evident where the balustrades turn at the landings.

Another important factor was the precision of both the fabrication and installation of the stairs by our own specialists. This is most obvious in the perfectly formed angle where the treads meet the risers, and the way the bottom of the glass balustrade panels are parallel with the line formed by the tread-riser edges.
