Eye Candy for Architects

Architecture may flirt a little – not with big words, but with shapes, materials and details that quietly draw the eye. Max Verstappen’s phrase “simply lovely” perfectly captures the staircase that architect Andrea Milani designed for Verstappen.com: pure eye candy for architects and a powerful showcase for EeStairs. With that in mind, we present a selection of projects where form, material and precision come together, and where the staircase is the first thing you notice and the last thing you forget – proof of what real attention to detail can achieve.

Schoonderwoerd, Bilthoven [NL]
EeStairs + TKI / Pieter Laureys Interieur Design

In this corner building, the staircase becomes a confident, sculptural statement: a helical design by TKI Interiors, refined by EeStairs and co-founder Cornelis van Vlastuin, rotated 180° so the inner handrail draws your eye into the space while the outer handrail aligns with the wall. With 15 mm EePaint-finished steel handrails, warm walnut treads and landings, and a laminated glass balustrade above, the stair feels fluid yet strong and fits naturally within the building’s distinctive layout.

Bird & Bird, London [GB]
EeStairs + MCM Architecture Limited + Wheeler Group LLP

From the street, the staircase at Bird & Bird appears as a clear, sculptural line that defines the interior in a single glance, its curved form, light play and openness drawing you in even before you enter. Inside, a precise steel core, the rhythm of the treads and the uninterrupted balustrade create calm, natural movement through the space – a technically refined stair that reinforces the interior’s identity without overpowering it, fitting seamlessly into its London setting.

Aurore, Courbevoie [FR]
EeStairs + Viguier + sisto studios

In the business heart of Courbevoie, surrounded by sharp glass towers and office blocks, this staircase stands out as a clear, inviting gesture that brings a human scale to its efficient surroundings. From the entrance it draws the eye with a gentle curve, light materials and open design, while inside its transparent balustrades and precise construction create a calm, vertical line that adds exactly what the space needs: character, clarity and direction.

The power of a perfect finish

Materials shape the presence of a staircase as much as its form. EePaint was developed for exactly that reason: a collection of high-quality finishes, from subtle metallics to deep, warm tones, each with its own texture, sheen and character. In Stairfinder you can instantly explore and compare EePaint finishes, combine them with woods and metals, and build a moodboard that matches your project’s atmosphere – making specification clear and visual, without losing technical depth.
